Colourful landscape paintings for every space
Fine art made in Bath, U.K.
Amy C Clarke - Landscape Artist
I am a figurative painter specialising in painting and drawing colourful landscapes.
I am also an academic, writer and pet mother. I live and work just outside the beautiful city of Bath in the U.K. at the edge of the woodland and rolling fields, with my husband and our attention-seeking dog and cat…
Original Landscape Oil Paintings
Landscapes, seascapes and skyscapes. Rolling green fields and vibrant blue beaches, colourful sunsets and moody skies all inspired by real scenes.
These oil paintings are inspired by walks and beautiful views I have seen both in England and abroad. Painted on wooden panels and on canvas and all waiting to become a beautiful feature piece in your chosen room.
Oil on canvas, 55×45cm, framed in a white wooden ‘float’ frame.
This one of a kind original painting was inspired by a walk in Combe Hay near Bath, UK, through the long grass and wildflowers on a late summer evening. I wanted to capture the glow of the sun on the trees, the ox-eye daisies and the clover, and the silken coolness of the grass. I love how this painting brightens up every room it hangs in and the way the colours shift in the light. It’s a real painting of calm and joy, which I hope you feel when looking at it too.
Framed in a white wooden box ‘float’ frame
Painted signature on the front
Signed on the back with my name, the year and the painting title
Hanging string and wired d-rings attached so it is ready to hang in your home
Includes a certificate of authenticity and a care guide
Varnished with Gamblin Gamvar to ensure protection from the elements and to keep the pigments rich and bright.
I can deliver in person to addresses in the Bath area or arrange local collection. For postage this oil painting will be posted wrapped in tissue paper and bubble wrap, enclosed safely inside layers of cardboard.
Due to differences in screen displays the colours may vary slightly from those in person - generally paintings appear more vibrant and fully pigmented than they do on screen. If you are worried about this and want more views of this painting contact me at amyclarkeart@gmail.com and I will send you a video of the piece in different lighting.
International shipping may incur extra costs. All sales are final.
Oil and gold leaf on canvas, 55×45cm, in a white wooden ‘float’ frame.
This one of a kind original painting was inspired by one of my favourite walks in Combe Hay, near Bath in the UK. I walk there often with my dog and I love the way the hill open up to the sunset, with changing colours and wildlife transforming the place every time I visit. This painting depicts a late summer sunset, as the seasons are starting to shift, the evenings beginning to chill and dew just forming on the grass. The gold leaf on the clouds in this piece glows and reflects different colours, really making the evening sunshine pop out of the picture.

Oil on stretched linen, 55x40cm.
This one of a kind original painting depicts a view in Tuscany, Italy seen during a summer holiday there. The sky was the most extraordinary colour, glowing red and orange and deep midnight blue with the heat of the day and made even more beautiful by a chilled glass of wine…
I think this painting can evoke holidays spent enjoying similar warm evenings, and contains all the excitement and possibility of views still to explore.

These delicate landscapes are ideal for decorating a small space or for brightening up a sideboard or office desk.

‘Magic on the Rooftops’, Watercolour on paper, 10x8 inches/25.5x20.5 cm.
Inspired by the sky view from our home, the chimneys and rooftops silhouetted against an incredible sunset. The clouds appeared almost on fire in the light, the tips dark as if a storm was approaching, even though moments before it had been only slightly overcast. I gazed out over the houses in awe watching the colours deepen and intensify, as the clouds slid gently across the sky.

I have taken every effort to depict my work accurately in these images in different lights, however variation from photograph to reality is often unavoidable - generally with the original looking brighter and clearer than photographs depict. ‘Sea of Tranquility’, Watercolour on paper, 25.5x20.5 cm/ 10x8 inches
Inspired by a view I know well, this piece depicts the beaches on the South Coast where I grew up and spent many years during my childhood. The sight of wooden groynes fills me with nostalgia, a view associated forever for me with collecting seashells and identifying the items washed up on shore, the smell and slimy feel of seaweed underfoot, and splashing in the deep pools formed by rolling waves. I painted this from a wonderful reference photograph by Vicky Davis.

‘The Light at Widemouth’, Gouache on paper, 25.5x20.5cm/ 10x8 inches.
This piece was inspired by a beautiful trip to Bude last year, with friends. We had planned to visit again in 2020 as a group, for another weekend of sun, surf and laughter, and were very sorry to have to cancel. I wanted to cherish the memory of the previous visit by painting the scene that caught my eye as we walked along the cliff’s edge last year. The sun sparkled through the overcast clouds, casting a spotlight on the dark ocean waves.

‘Summer Haze’, watercolour on paper, 25.5x20.5 cm/ 10x8 inches.
Inspired by a walk from my home in Bath, as the summer heat evaporated the final dew of spring during an early season heatwave. The leaves were still new on the trees and the grass the fresh green of early in the year. I fell in love with this view the first time I saw it, and wanted to convey the hazy and dreamy vision of a simple walk, feeling the sun warm the skin and watching the sudden transformation from spring to summer.

‘Wren’, detailed pencil drawing on Fabriano Disegno paper, 33x24 cm. Original unframed. £130

Art for every space
I believe purchasing and displaying art should be an exciting and a special experience. Whether buying something large or small, choosing the first print for your walls or investing in an oil painting to cherish for years. My artwork is full of colour and joy, cherished memories and hopefully some inspiration too.
This painting was inspired by a sunset and fluffy clouds over the water and boats at Dell Quay in Chichester. I focused on the colour and texture of the clouds, the dreamlike and golden glow they gave off in the evening sun, when painting this piece. It is about hoping for calm seas in life and trusting in your ability to navigate what comes your way.
